The Garmont Tower 3.0 Gore-Tex is a mountaineering boot designed for high-altitude outings, technical hikes and winter snowshoe routes. When conditions turn wet, the Gore-Tex More Seasons ePE lining forms a barrier intended to limit water ingress, while the Lenzi Putek upper, nylon microfibre and TPU and rubber reinforcements structure and protect the foot.
On uneven ground, the Heel Lock system reduces heel movement inside the boot to maintain a more stable fit and minimise rubbing. The asymmetrical collar and anatomical tongue of the a.d.d. system improve hold, with differentiated padding that spreads the pressure from the lacing across the instep.
Underfoot, the mono-density PU midsole sits on a Vibram Vertex outsole made from Durastep rubber with Traction Lug. The whole construction works with the Overlasting system, a rubber band that connects the upper more securely to the sole unit to enhance stability and precision when placing the foot.
Can this boot be used with crampons?
The midsole features a TPU crampon insert and the boot is designed for high-altitude hikes where crampons may be required.
Does the Gore-Tex lining use PFCs?
The GTX More Seasons lining is made with an ePE membrane stated to be PFC-free.
