Product description — Aequilibrium St Gore-tex Carbon Cypress

The La Sportiva Aequilibrium St Gore-Tex is a mid-cut mountaineering boot designed for snow and ice routes, ridges and mixed high-mountain terrain. It is aimed at experienced alpinists looking for a balance between low weight and stiffness on long, technical outings.

Who is it for, and what is it for?

  • Alpinists tackling exposed ridge routes combining rock, snow and ice
  • Users who need a boot compatible with hybrid crampons
  • Spring, summer and autumn outings, with possible use in cold, dry conditions
  • For harsh winter conditions with deep snow, a thermally insulated boot will be more suitable

Specifications of the La Sportiva Aequilibrium St Gore-Tex:

  • Mid-cut synthetic upper
  • Waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane
  • 3-season use, suitable for cold, dry weather
  • Compatible with hybrid crampons, rigid heel welt
  • Standard fit
  • Vibram SpringLug Tech outsole
  • Directional 3D Flex System Evo joint, ankle bone protected by TPU layers
  • Gusseted tongue and soft-fabric snow gaiter

In the mountains

The mid-cut upper stabilises the ankle on traverses and scree slopes. The Gore-Tex membrane keeps your foot dry in snow, rain or when crossing shallow streams, while allowing perspiration to escape. The rigid heel welt takes a lever-lock heel bail, making the boot compatible with hybrid crampons on ice or hard snow sections. The construction remains lightweight, helping reduce fatigue on long ridge routes.

Can crampons be used with this boot?

Yes, the rigid rear welt accepts a lever-lock heel bail, making this boot compatible with hybrid crampons on ice or firm snow.

Does this boot really keep your feet dry in the rain?

The Gore-Tex membrane provides reliable waterproofing while allowing moisture vapour to escape, helping keep feet dry in rain, wet grass or snow.

Can this boot be worn in winter?

It can be used in cold, dry conditions thanks to its 3-season design. For frequent winter outings in deep snow, a thermally insulated boot will offer greater comfort.
