Buyer’s guide for classic junior cross-country ski boots
Why buy a pair of boots for my child when they grow up so quickly and change shoe size every year? Quite simply because a junior boot will enable them to feel more comfortable in their equipment and to make the most of the gliding sensations without seeing foot pains emerging from the first few meters. The children's skate skiing boots are also more generously fitted with protective foam to ensure excellent protection against the cold.
Why should you get "Combi" boots?
The so-called "Combi" or Skiathlon boots have two benefits that seem very important to us for young skiers and their parents.
First of all, they allow you to practice the two techniques that make up Nordic skiing with the same pair of boots. The boot includes a cuff to stabilise the foot sideways during the practice of skating, and the sole is quite flexible to guarantee a perfect foot articulation during axial supports necessary to the classic technique. Without being ultra high-performance, these Combi ski boots are enough to learn the bases of the two styles which form Nordic skiing.
Kids and parents will quickly be won over by these extraordinary boots.
The standards of children's Nordic ski boots:
It's no secret to anybody, there are 3 boot and bindings standards in Nordic skiing. Some are compatible amongst themselves and others are not.
For the purpose of ease for the parents, the junior skating boot section only lists two standards which are compatible. You will therefore discover children's skating boots in NNN standard and in Prolink standard completely compatible with the NNN and Prolink bindings. The only thing left for you to do is to choose a kids’ skating ski set so that your protected little one will be equipped like a pro.
