What are the advantages of a plastic scraper?
Once the ironing is done and your glide wax has cooled down, it's time for scraping. During this operation, you will remove most of the excess wax using a plastic scraper. Different thickness are available with 3, 4 and 5 mm, the thinner a scraper is, the more it will bend. Your thickness choice should depend on the wax you are using: cold waxes are harder and difficult to remove so you'll need a thicker scraper while hot wax are very soft and easy to scrape and a thinner scraper is best.
How do I clean up the grooves?
This requires a very specific tool. The Swix groove scraper, compatible with all skis, was specifically designed to adapt to the different groove widths. We advise you to perform this operation while the wax is still warm to avoid any risk of scratches if your hand slips.
My ski is not flat, can I fix it?
Yes indeed, it is possible to retrieve a sole that's not flat and that's the whole purpose of the metal scraper. However, be very careful and act with great care as any mistake can cause serious damage to your sole and this time you won't be able to get it back.
