Description
The Ohmega is a braking assistant developed by Edelrid. Compact and lightweight, it enhances both comfort and safety during belaying in climbing. Weighing just 190 g, it naturally finds its place on your harness or in your bag, whether for an indoor session, a day at the crag, or multi-pitch routes with a single rope. From the very first moves, it provides genuine support to the climbing team, regardless of the weight difference between climber and belayer. Thanks to its integrated HMPE sling, you can quickly adjust one of three braking levels according to weight distribution. This setup significantly reduces the forces exerted on the belayer during a fall and allows for more dynamic and fluid belaying, minimising jolts and reducing the risk of injury from impacts. In case of a fall, the integrated cam engages to effectively brake the rope, preventing the belayer from being lifted off the ground and limiting risks of collision or ground falls, even when falling near an anchor or directly at device level. The built-in pulley noticeably reduces friction at the first point compared to a standard quickdraw, offering increased comfort on long pitches both while climbing up and clipping gear. Versatile and easy to use, the Ohmega is suitable for beginners as well as experienced climbers and professionals seeking safer and more controlled belaying.
