Description

The Comp Skate is no exception to Alpina's rule of originality, presenting a compressed carbon frame and collar concept. At first glance it looks like plastic, but it's not! This makes this boot one of the best value for money ratio in its range with the expertise that we know from the Slovenian brand and that does not elude the most experienced connoisseurs.

What are the features of the Alpina Comp Skate cross-country ski boot?

The Comp Skate has already changed its look, despite the fact that Alpina decided to change a few cosmetic details in just one year. Apart from that, there is no technical novelty, Alpina relies on the manufacture of the frame/neckpiece pair in compressed carbon. This material, never used before in Nordic skiing, will make its appearance on two brands in 2020. The big advantage of compressed carbon is its absolutely phenomenal weight/stiffness ratio and its elasticity. In addition, this carbon is easier to mould than braided carbon, which makes it easier to make blocks in one piece. This Comp skate benefits from a major asset, the carbon frame which wraps the heel and to which the cuff is directly attached. The heel lock is perfect, which provides remarkable precision of the ski movement. The cuff acts as an ankle stabiliser when the foot is placed on the ski and during the gliding phase, when it helps to maintain the ankle axis firmly without constraining the malleoli thanks to its anatomical structure. The fit is a little more generous than on the Elite and Pro models, which opens this boot to skiers who are not yet familiar with ultra-precise race boots. The comfort level of the boot is very good, and it's hard to beat it. The Alpina lacing with flat laces at 45° provides optimal foot support and optimises ski control. The 4Dry lace cover provides breathability and water repellence while bringing the gaiter closer to the foot for a snug fit. The Comp Skate is compatible with NNN, Turnamic and Prolink binding standards. In its first season in 20/21 the Comp Skate was a huge success with our customers, we hope this version will satisfy even more people as it has a lot to offer.

Who is the Alpina Comp Skate cross-country ski boot for?

The Comp Skate is an excellent compromise between precision and comfort and is particularly recommended for sporty skiers looking to improve their technique. In this respect, it is one of the best possible alternatives. The compressed carbon collar and frame offer a remarkable torsional rigidity that contributes to good reflexes when putting the ski down without creating any stress. Compressed carbon is more elastic and therefore more forgiving. It is therefore a very good choice to pass a technical course with a comfortable boot of an exceptional manufacturing quality.

What are the main qualities of the Alpina Comp Skate cross-country ski boot?

  • Comfortable fit
  • Tolerance
  • Precision
  • 100% compressed carbon collar and frame
