The X-IUM Carbon Premium Classic model was until now the most elaborate running shoe of the Rossignol range. It now leaves the place to the Race models but isn’t ashamed of its technical qualities, considering the price range where the competition struggles to offer such technical shoes. 

What are the characteristics of the Rossignol X-IUM Carbon Premium Classic cross-country ski boot?  

Technically identical to the previous model, the update has been more aesthetically pleasing than anything else. That said, this boot has some good points to make. The Turnamic sole ensures a particularly efficient foot movement and maintains a good level of dynamism at the end of the push. The lateral buttresses help to provide remarkable stability when leaving tracks and turning steps. Used for two years in the Cross-Country World Cup, from the beginning of 2018 to the beginning of 2020, this boot proved itself at the highest level before being replaced by the Race model. The liner is one of the most important parts of the boot, and Rossignol has perfectly designed the soft neoprene liner, which provides more support for the ankle while being forgotten very quickly. The gaiter is closed with an asymmetrical side zip at the end of which there is a Velcro strap that adjusts the overall tightening and support of the outer part of the boot. The Speedlace Lock quick lacing offers a homogenous tightening throughout the foot thanks to the nylon straps which allow an adjustment all around the circumference. Compatible with the NNN, Prolink and Turnamic binding systems, this boot does not restrict you in your choice of skis if you stay within these standards. This is a real advantage because the boot offers more than satisfactory footwear comfort for a top-of-the-range model, with in particular a fairly large toe box that allows the foot to lie flat without constraining the metatarsal area. Last but not least, its price positioning, in its price range, this shoe is technically superior to competing models. 

Who is the Rossignol X-IUM Carbon Premium Classic cross-country ski boot for? 

The advantage of such a boot, with its technical qualities and its very attractive price placement, is that it is open to a wider public than that of its competitors. It can very well be used by an athletic skier and lover of the classic style who does not have competition goals. It is a very good compromise between the new generation of 100% carbon boots and the plastic frame boots. A very comfortable model that opens up to various types of sportsmen and women.
