Description

The last nugget of the French brand's Race department has already been seen this winter in the World Cup and Biathlon World Championships. This brand-new shoe mixes novelty and proven concepts with the objective of performance and efficiency.  

What are the characteristics of the Rossignol X-IUM Carbon Premium Skate Course cross-country ski boot?   

This is not apparent at first glance, but the whole of the outsole and chassis have been redesigned. Gone are the carbon soles glued under the buttresses, now there is an integral moulding that starts from the front of the shoe, wraps around the heel and is attached directly to the collar by the side buttresses. This construction guarantees a more homogeneous torsional rigidity while lightening the entire structure of the shoe. There is also something new with the lace-up boots, the side zip remains, but now the boots go higher and are attached by a velcro under the outer part of the collar. On the inside you will find the liner that made the Premium shoe a success in the last two seasons and which ensures a very good support for the foot. The lacing is done with the Speedlace Lock system, which is very efficient, it is attached to nylon straps that run along the side of the foot for a homogeneous grip. As far as comfort is concerned, the advantage of Rossignol is that it always leaves a fairly generous volume in the metatarsal area, which is not always the case with shoes of this level of range. It is very probably the most comfortable model in its category. The Turnamic sole has been placed directly on the carbon layer, its thinness guarantees a good precision for balance and ride. It is compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic binding standards. In terms of sensations, there is no need to say that the snow contact is even more sensitive with a thinner moulded sole. The collar provides remarkable ankle stability, and its rounded shape at the malleoli ensures excellent comfort. Already a Biathlon World Champion and overall winner of the 2020 Cross-Country World Cup, this boot has proven itself at the highest level.
