The Amplid Pentaquark is a snowboard specifically designed for carving enthusiasts. It has a slightly directional shape that makes it easier to ride in alpine style, while allowing the most experienced snowboarders to carve in switch. Despite a slight difference in width between the nose and tail and inserts that are only slightly offset, it remains very well balanced. Its design combines lightness and power, thanks to a Lite Core, biaxial fibres, a honeycomb structure at the tips to make them lighter and a robust carbon reinforcement on the tail. With its full-length traditional camber, the Pentaquark is a real carving machine that rips through groomers with unrivalled grip, linking turns with agility and precision, and offering incredible rebound between turns thanks to the carbon reinforcement. Ideal for advanced to expert snowboarders, this high-performance, manoeuvrable board will delight those who like to carve with intensity on corduroy.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
