Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Bataleon Cameleon is the freeride board in the Bataleon lineup for riders who want a board that’s responsive, precise, and truly versatile across the entire mountain. It’s clearly designed for off-piste and varied terrain, without trying to do everything at once. A top choice for intermediate to advanced snowboarders who want a board that keeps pace with their progress.

What is the Bataleon Cameleon snowboard designed for?

The Cameleon is a directional freeride and all-mountain board: it’s in its element on steep slopes, in fresh snow, and in off-piste spots. Its directional shape means it has a clearly defined front and back, which gives it real ease in turns and in powder, but makes it less comfortable for riding switch. The classic camber provides pop, solid grip, and precision that rewards an aggressive riding style. With high stiffness, the Cameleon remains stable at high speeds and responds directly to pressure, leaving little room for error.

Who is the Bataleon Cameleon snowboard designed for?

The Cameleon is designed for intermediate to advanced snowboarders looking for a responsive board to explore terrain beyond groomed runs.

  • Riders comfortable on red and black runs who are starting to venture off-piste
  • Snowboarders who prefer freeriding and want a versatile board for varied terrain
  • Riders who carve turns with precision and appreciate a board that responds sharply

A top choice if you’re looking for a responsive and precise board for freeriding.

Avoid this if you want to do jibbing or spend your sessions in the snow park.

What difference do the Carbon Stringers actually make on the Cameleon?

Carbon Stringers are carbon fiber reinforcements integrated into the board’s construction: they increase the board’s longitudinal stiffness and responsiveness without adding weight, thanks to the Ultra Light Core. As a result, when you carve into a sharp turn or pick up speed, the Cameleon responds immediately without losing its edge.

What does the DRST Super Tubes technology do on the Cameleon?

D.R.S.T. (Directional Rocker Step-Down Technology) Super Tubes is Bataleon’s proprietary directional 3D profile: it reduces unwanted edge catches and makes transitions smoother, especially on uneven snow. On the Cameleon, this is what makes turn initiation smoother despite its firm flex.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
