Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Bataleon Minishred is a board designed for young riders stepping onto the snow for the first time. Bataleon designed this model around a simple idea: that gear should never be a barrier to progress. A serious board, built with the same standards as the brand’s adult boards, but scaled down for smaller riders.

What is the Bataleon Minishred snowboard designed for?

The Minishred is a versatile, freestyle-oriented board: it can be ridden anywhere on the mountain—from groomed runs to beginner features—without being limited to a single type of terrain. The twintip shape (a perfectly symmetrical board, from tip to tail) allows you to ride in both directions—regular or switch—with no difference in handling. The profile is a classic camber, meaning the board is slightly arched in the center when laid flat. Bataleon calls its interpretation of this profile "Low Camber," a slightly softened version that makes the board more accessible without losing the benefits of camber.

Who is the Bataleon Minishred snowboard designed for?

The Minishred is designed for young riders who are just starting out in snowboarding and are looking for a forgiving board, not one that resists their moves.

A good choice if your child is just starting out or is in their first few seasons on the snow.

Not recommended if the young rider already has several seasons under their belt and is looking to land jumps or ride in powder.

Can the Bataleon Minishred be ridden switch?

Yes, without any adjustments: the twintip shape is perfectly symmetrical, with the tip and tail identical, making switch riding just as natural as riding regular.

What is Bataleon’s SideKick technology?

SideKick is a slight three-dimensional raised section on the sides of the board that reduces edge catch at the beginning and end of turns. For a young rider learning to control their weight distribution, this prevents falls caused by edge errors.

What base does the Bataleon Minishred feature?

The Minishred is equipped with a Hyper Glide S base, a sintered base (the material is pressed to a high density, making it smoother and more durable than a traditional extruded base). For young riders who spend their days on the slopes, this translates to a smooth glide.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
