Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Bataleon Placebo is a unique offering in the brand’s catalog: Bataleon’s first flat snowboard, built without the 3D technology that is the hallmark of the line, but featuring all of the brand’s premium materials. A board designed for the experienced rider looking to rediscover classic riding sensations, with an all-mountain focus geared toward the groomed slopes and freeride.

What’s the deal with the Bataleon Placebo snowboard?

The Placebo is a versatile, freeride-oriented board that’s in its element on the piste at high speeds and equally at home exploring the edges of the run. Its directional twin shape is largely symmetrical with a slight rearward offset: you can ride comfortably switch while maintaining directional control when you really commit. Its classic camber delivers pop, crisp edge grip, and precision. On a groomed run at high speeds, the Placebo remains stable and predictable, without losing traction.

Who is the Bataleon Placebo snowboard designed for?

The Placebo is designed for advanced to expert snowboarders looking for a board with a direct feel that demands precise control.

  • Riders comfortable on hard-packed slopes who want an immediate response underfoot
  • Snowboarders who switch between groomed runs and freeride

A good choice if you’re comfortable with a classic camber and are looking for precision and speed on the piste.

Not recommended if you’re a beginner or if deep powder is your main playground.

Is the Bataleon Placebo really different from other Bataleon boards?

Yes: unlike the rest of the Bataleon lineup, the Placebo features a flat (2D) base, without the brand’s 3D technology. All the premium materials are still there, resulting in a more classic feel that’s immediately familiar to riders accustomed to traditional boards.

What exactly do the Carbon Stringers bring to the Placebo?

Carbon Stringers are carbon fiber reinforcements integrated into the construction: very lightweight, they increase the board’s responsiveness and amplify the pop. On a classic camber board like the Placebo, they enhance precision underfoot and dampen vibrations at high speeds.

Can you ride the Placebo switch?

Yes, the Placebo’s twin-directional shape is designed for that: the board is generally symmetrical, which makes riding switch accessible and natural.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
