Product description — Tornado X Beyond Medals

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Bataleon Tornado X Beyond Medals is Tor Lundström’s signature board: a board built for big lines, with a responsive flex and a shape that combines power and fun. It’s designed for snowboarders looking for a board that can handle anything without ever losing precision.

What’s the deal with the Bataleon Tornado X Beyond Medals snowboard?

The Tornado X Beyond Medals is a versatile board with a freeride focus: it’s right at home on big slopes and challenging terrain, but it remains comfortable all over the mountain. Its directional twin shape—generally symmetrical with a slight setback—allows for comfortable switch riding while maintaining a freeride-oriented feel, offering the best of both worlds. The classic camber provides pop and solid grip.

Who is the Bataleon Tornado X Beyond Medals snowboard designed for?

The Tornado X Beyond Medals is designed for advanced to expert snowboarders who want a demanding board that rewards active riding on all types of terrain.

  • Riders who switch between groomed runs and off-piste sessions in the same day
  • Snowboarders looking for precision and grip

A good choice if you’re comfortable on all types of terrain and are looking for a board that responds when you really commit.

Not recommended if you’re a beginner or if your main playground is the snowpark.

What are the main features of the Bataleon Tornado X Beyond Medals snowboard?

Versatility

How do the Carbon Stringers affect the board’s performance?

Carbon Stringers incorporate carbon fibers into the layup to make the Tornado X Beyond Medals livelier, more responsive to even the slightest pressure, and capable of generating pop. They also help dampen vibrations at high speeds.

Is the Tornado X Beyond Medals comfortable to ride switch?

Its symmetrical, twin-directional shape with a slight setback makes riding switch perfectly feasible: you maintain a balanced feel in both directions.

What does SideKick technology bring to this board?

SideKick raises the edges at the contact points on the nose and tail: edge engagement during turns becomes more progressive, the board floats better in powder, and it absorbs rough terrain more effectively.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
