Product description — Women's Thunderstorm

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Bataleon Women's Thunderstorm is a freeride board specifically designed for female snowboarders looking for a sturdy board for off-piste riding.

What is the Bataleon Women's Thunderstorm snowboard designed for?

The Women's Thunderstorm is a board geared toward freeride and all-mountain riding: its natural terrain is off-piste, steep slopes, and natural snow. The directional shape means it has a distinct front and back, making it effective in turns and comfortable in powder, but it’s not designed for riding switch. Bataleon’s "Low" camber is a mild, classic camber that provides grip and precision in turns: the rider can set her edges firmly and feel the board respond immediately.

Who is the Bataleon Women’s Thunderstorm snowboard designed for?

The Women’s Thunderstorm is designed for intermediate to expert female snowboarders who want a challenging board tailored for freeriding.

A good choice if you have a solid skill level and a keen sense of the terrain.

Not recommended if you’re a beginner or looking for a board for freestyle.

Powder performance

What does Bataleon’s 3BT technology bring to this model?

3BT (Triple Base Technology) is Bataleon’s proprietary 3D profile: the base is slightly raised on the sides, which reduces unintended edge catches and makes it easier to initiate turns. On the Women’s Thunderstorm, this geometry is combined with SideKick technology to enhance lateral response and edge grip during carving.

What is the construction of the Women’s Thunderstorm, and how does it affect the ride?

The board combines an ultra-lightweight wood core with Carbon Stringers—carbon fiber reinforcements that stiffen the board lengthwise without adding weight. In practical terms, this gives the rider better responsiveness in long turns and greater stability at high speeds.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
