Description

The Burton Custom Flying V is a very versatile snowboard, thanks to its directional twin shape that works very well in switch but makes turn initiations easy and improves the ability to lift in powder. Indeed, the board is symmetrical, allowing to ride both ways, but with a slightly setback stance, just enough to have more control at the back foot and naturally lift the nose in pow. The flex is punchy but remains accessible, we are dealing with a responsive but comfortable board. Great to change paces and feel comfortable on the terrain park’s features. Finally, what makes the difference on this board, is its Flying V camber, a camber that combines reverse and classic camber for maximum forgiveness on hardpack and floatability in powder. It boosts the playfulness of the Custom and allows you to send tricks in the entire resort, including in the backcountry. A model accessible from the intermediate/advanced level.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
