Description

The Custom X is the carbon-doped version of the famous Burton Custom, the benchmark of the All-Mountain snowboard for many years. With the Custom X and its high-end construction based on a DragonFly 600G wood shell offering an exceptional power-to-weight ratio and generously reinforced with carbon fiber, get ready for committed rides throughout the resort.  

What is the program of the Burton Custom X snowboard?  

The Burton Custom X is a very versatile board that allows you to get onto any terrain, as long as you have the technique and fitness to do so. While the construction of the board has a lot to do with its performance, the efficiency of the twin directional shape and the precision of the classic camber also play a role. On packed snow the grip is excellent thanks to the camber, which is additionally reinforced by the corrugated Frostbite edges. On the other hand, the camber allows the power of the construction to be exploited perfectly, for maximum bounce in curves and stability at high speeds. You stay in control thanks to the manoeuvrability offered by the backward position of the feet, which also allows you to launch with less effort in the powder. Finally, the board remains well balanced in switch and offers great freestyle options for the hotheads looking to throw on the bigger modules.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
