Description

The Burton Deep Thinker is a snowboard with a directional shape designed first and foremost to perform in backcountry powder. The long front rocker considerably facilitates the ability to lift, just like the setback foot stance. Rest assured, this board also works on hardpack, notably thanks to the secure grip offered by the classic camber area. Thanks to the setback inserts, but also the directional flex, you benefit from improved control at the back foot, which allows for more precision. Regarding the construction, the Super Fly II 700G wood core is sturdy and lightweight, while the Dual Zone EGD technology and the layers of glass and carbon fibre provide very good edge hold, as well as great high-speed stability. You get a performance board that allows to ride powerfully on any type of snow but is primarily meant for powder.

What are the main assets of the Burton Deep Thinker snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
