Description

Flexible, playful and versatile, the Burton Descendant takes its freestyle/jib abilities to all terrains. This snowboard allows you to let your creativity run free, but is also great for a smooth start and promotes confidence.

What is the program of the Burton Downhill snowboard?

The Descendant is a twin-tip snowboard, perfectly symmetrical from nose to tail as most freestyle snowboards are. This provides maximum ease when switching (with the back foot forward) and with the added advantage of a well-balanced flex, you have all the options needed to set up tricks at all times. If you're more into cool descents than crazy tricks, you'll enjoy the secure grip offered by the classic camber, while the rocker zones provide a good little lift in the fresh snow at the edge of the piste. So, you can go down the slopes quietly while having fun getting behind the pickets to slash a little bit of snow.

Who is the Burton Downhill snowboard for?

Accessible for a beginner but ideal for an intermediate snowboarder, this model will delight snowboarders looking for a playful board with which they can ride without getting stuck, freestyle easily and go over all types of snow.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
