Description

The GNU Headspace is the pro-model of the American snowboarder Forest Bailey, and one of the few asymmetric snowboards available on the market. The asymmetry takes place between the front edge and the back edge, to compensate for the natural lack of balance and power of every snowboarder in a backside edge. The backside edge has a shorter curve radius, which means that the backside edge can make the same turn as the frontside edge with less board angle. The result is a very balanced board for carving on the slopes that also offers maximum freestyle options thanks to its twin-tip shape and playability. Be careful when mounting the bindings to respect the direction of the snowboard so as not to invert the front edge and the back edge.

What is the program of the GNU Headspace snowboard?

The GNU Headspace has been designed mainly to be ridden on piste. To do this, it has a classic camber that provides good grip and asymmetric edges that make carving on the slopes really enjoyable. The twin-tip shape, with the feet well centered in the middle of the board, allows to switch without difficulty. Finally, the construction offers a good balance between performance and playability, for ollie pop and stability at high speed, while preserving the flexibility of the spatulas allowing you the pleasure of placing presses at the slightest opportunity! A really fun board to ride!

Who is the GNU Headspace snowboard for?

We recommend this model to experienced or expert snowboarders who mainly ride on the slopes, on the edges of the piste and in the snowpark, and are looking for a board that is playful, dynamic and efficient on the piste with which they can have fun and send tricks.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
