Description

The Gnu Headspace is the pro-model of the American snowboarder Forest Bailey, artist and snowboarder, author of the design of his own board. Beyond the artistic eye, Forest Bailey also knew how to make his board quite unique by designing it asymmetrically. It is a twin-tip with a back edge and a front edge not having the same curve radius. The idea is to compensate for the natural power deficit in the front edge with a longer radius, for more natural and fluid turns on the track.

What is the Gnu Headspace program?

Don't worry, the asymmetry between the back and front edges doesn't radically change the game. However, be sure to respect the direction of the board (because even if it is twin-tip, there is really a nose and a tail to respect to take advantage of the little extra provided by the asymmetry of the edges). For the rest, it's a great freestyle board, with a powerful classic camber and a dynamic wood/fiberglass construction, to hit big ollies and take off easily during your tricks. It offers great grip on piste, thanks to the Magne-Traction edges. It maintains flex which is perfect for jibing on the modules and rails of the park. There are a lot of possibilities with this board.

Who is the GNU Headspace snowboard for?

This model is aimed at advanced or expert snowboarders and freestyle enthusiasts, who are looking for a precise and powerful twin-tip to send a maximum of tricks in the snowpark. They will also be able to ride on the slopes and the edges of the slopes.

What are the main qualities of the GNU Headspace snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
