The Gnu Headspace, the pro board of American snowboarder and artist Forest Bailey, features a unique graphic. Beyond its aesthetics, Forest Bailey has created an exceptional board with an asymmetrical configuration. It is designed as a twin-tip with different sidecut radii for the heel edge and toe edge. The goal is to balance the lesser power of the toe edge with a wider radius, allowing for smoother and more natural turns on groomers.

What is the Gnu Headspace snowboard made for?

The difference between the heel edge and the toe edge is not extreme. However, it is crucial to respect the direction of the board to fully benefit from the asymmetry of the edges (despite its twin-tip design, it has a distinct nose and tail). Moreover, it is an excellent choice for freestyle, equipped with a robust traditional camber and a responsive wood/fibreglass construction, perfect for executing big ollies and sending bigger airs. With its Magne-Traction edges, it ensures remarkable grip on groomers while remaining flexible, ideal for jibbing on the obstacles and rails of the terrain park. Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
