The Jones Freecarver 6000s snowboard is designed for carving on groomed runs, where you want to string together short, tight turns while maintaining edge grip. Its short 6-meter turning radius gives it bite in tight turns and a lively energy transfer from edge to edge.

What is the Jones Freecarver 6000s snowboard designed for?

It’s a directional carving board, designed primarily for the groomed slopes and hard snow, with a shape that draws from both race and freeride styles and a classic camber running almost the entire length of the board. Its short 6-meter radius enables tight, responsive turns, while its biaxial construction provides a medium flex. Traction Tech increases the number of contact points to grip hard snow, and the Sintered 9900 base maintains speed. It also handles groomed backcountry terrain and transformed snow at a good pace, but isn’t designed for powder.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
