Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Jones Freecarver 9000s snowboard is designed for carving on groomed slopes, for riders looking to make long, tight turns at high speeds. Its 9-meter turning radius stabilizes the board during wide turns and allows you to string together sweeping turns without the edge losing grip.

What is the Jones Freecarver 9000s snowboard designed for?

It’s a directional carving board geared toward groomed runs and hard snow, with a shape inspired by race and freeride designs and a classic camber running almost the entire length of the board. Its 9-meter radius and semi-stiff triaxial laminate make it precise and stable in high-speed, wide turns, with a setback that gives it a forward-oriented feel. Traction Tech provides grip on hardpack, and the Sintered 9900 base maintains glide. It handles groomed backcountry and transformed snow at a good pace, but it’s not a powder board.

Who is the Jones Freecarver 9000s snowboard designed for?

It’s aimed at riders who carve fast and commit to wide turns rather than tight ones. Its stiffness and classic camber require body weight transfer and good technique, which makes it suitable only for intermediate to expert riders.

Is the Freecarver 9000s suitable for high-speed carving?

Yes. Its long 9-meter turning radius, rigid triaxial laminate, and classic camber make it stable and precise in fast, wide turns on groomed slopes.

Is the Freecarver 9000s suitable for tight turns?

Not really. Its long turning radius is better suited for wide, flowing turns; for short, more playful turns, the Freecarver 6000s is a better choice.

What’s the difference between the Freecarver 9000s and the Freecarver 6000s?

Both feature the same carving design and classic camber. The 9000s has a 9-meter turning radius and a stiffer triaxial laminate, designed for long, smooth turns and speed. The 6000s has a 6-meter turning radius and a more flexible biaxial construction, for short, tight, and sharp turns.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
