A supercharged version of the Mind Expander, the Ultra Mind Expander takes the same shape with the addition of a classic camber and an "Ultra" construction that offers grip, power and stability. The construction combines performance and eco-design, and includes FSC-certified wood, basalt reinforcements, bio-based glue and wax, as well as recycled edges and borders.

What is the program of the Jones Ultra Mind Expander snowboard?

This highly directional snowboard is designed to provide maximum curving ability on all terrains. The very setback foot position and the more rigid flex on the back provides lots of control and fluidity during turns. Although this is not the most stable carving board from Jones, the classic camber and the wavy Traction Tech 3.0 edges provide excellent edge grip. Off-piste, the high volume and front spatula rocker provide a rock-solid off-road lift. Don't worry about it, the Ultra Mind Expander will allow you to take full advantage of the big snow conditions. Thus, you have a board that offers you a lot of control and dynamism in curves, allows you to put rhythm in all your descents, while enjoying the efficiency and originality of its shape.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. Is my board ready-to-use ?

The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

How to maintain your equipment ?

Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
