The Ultra Mind Expander uses the same shape as its little sister, the Mind Expander and adds traditional camber and an "Ultra" construction, for more grip, power and stability. A version on steroids as you might call it. The construction combines performance and sustainability, you find FSC certified timber, basalt reinforcements, bio sourced glue and wax, as well as recycled edges and sidewalls. 

What is the program of the Jones Ultra Mind Expander snowboard? 

This very directional snowboard is designed to offer maximum turning abilities on any terrain. The very setback foot stance and stiffer flex at the back provide lots of control and smoothness in the turns. While it is not the most stable board for carving Jones offers, the edge hold is still excellent thanks to the traditional camber and Traction Tech 3.0 serrated edges that cut through snow like a knife. Off-piste, the generous volume and front rocker offer amazing lift. Don't worry, the Ultra Mind Expander will allow you to fully enjoy deep snow conditions. The board offers plenty of control and dynamism in the turns, allows you to descend at a fast pace, while enjoying the efficiency and uniqueness of its shape.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
