Product description — Commonwealth

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The K2 Commonwealth is a snowboard designed to push the limits of all-mountain freeriding. Its directional profile combined with a traditional camber makes it the perfect choice for snowboarders who like to keep power under their feet and explore the entire mountain. On groomed snow, it bites hard; in powder, it stays well on the surface; and its energetic character—typical of K2—clearly invites you to pick up speed on the slopes.

What is the K2 Commonwealth snowboard designed for?

The Commonwealth is designed for riders who alternate between big, carved turns on the piste and more committed lines in fresh snow. Its classic camber offers precise edge grip for powerful carving and good acceleration between turns. Its directional shape, enhanced by a more pronounced nose, makes it easier to float when the snow gets deep. A board designed to maintain control and intensity in a variety of conditions.

Who is the K2 Commonwealth snowboard designed for?

This board is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert riders who already have solid technique and are looking for a board that responds quickly, remains stable at high speeds, and performs equally well on the groomed slopes and in freeride terrain.

What are the main features of the K2 Commonwealth snowboard?

Grip

Dynamism

Float

Is the Commonwealth suitable for powder?

Yes. Its directional shape, longer nose, and tapered design promote lift and help the board stay fluid in deep snow.

Does the Commonwealth require a high technical skill level?

Yes. Its classic camber, stiffness, and reinforced construction are best suited for riders who are already confident on their feet.

Is the Commonwealth designed for speed?

Yes. Its sturdier construction, camber, and sintered base provide stability and control on fast runs.

Can you ride the Commonwealth for freestyle?

It can handle natural jumps or kickers, but its directional shape and firm flex make it better suited for freeriding than for jibbing or technical park riding.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
