Product description — Metropolitan

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The K2 Metropolitan women’s snowboard is designed with one thing in mind above all else: building confidence. It’s a forgiving, easy-to-ride board that’s perfect for everything from your first turns to your first full days on the mountain.

What are the features of the K2 Metropolitan snowboard?

The Metropolitan is designed for learning and progressing on the slopes: smooth turns and fluid sequences without unexpected edge catches. Its 100% twintip shape is perfectly symmetrical, identical whether riding regular or switch. Its hybrid camber features camber underfoot for grip and pop, and rocker at the tips for forgiveness and float. The board remains stable and predictable, yet has enough versatility to keep up when the urge to explore the rest of the resort strikes.

Who is the K2 Metropolitan snowboard designed for?

This board is designed for beginner women who want to progress quickly and with confidence, using gear that forgives mistakes. Its construction and flex are tailored to lighter riders: a genuine design choice, not just a graphic variation.

  • Learn and refine your turns on the groomed runs
  • Progress with confidence without demanding gear
  • Getting started with switch riding as your skill level improves

A top choice if you’re looking for a very forgiving board that makes every stage of learning feel safe.

Not recommended if you’re already an advanced rider looking for a board to push to its limits.

Frequently asked questions about the K2 Metropolitan snowboard

Does the Metropolitan forgive edge errors?

Yes. The rocker at the tips limits accidental edge catches and makes turning in and out smoother, which reduces falls while you’re learning.

Can you ride the Metropolitan switch?

Yes. Its perfectly symmetrical twin-tip shape provides the same ride in both directions, which is handy when you’re just getting started.

What’s the difference between the Metropolitan and the Extravision?

Two women’s boards, two stages of progression: the Metropolitan is a forgiving board for learning and having fun on the slopes, while the Extravision is a more stable directional freeride board for those who are already riding and want to hit the powder.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
