Description

The K2 Vandal is a twin-tip snowboard, which means it is symmetrical from nose to tail with a well-centred foot position that allows you to ride forward and backward. It is ideal for freestyle, offering maximum options for tricks. Before you can do that, you need to master the basics and the Vandal is perfect for that. Its soft flex, flat camber and rockers make it very easy to pick up. The turns are easy to follow, the board is not physical and you benefit from a good compromise between edge control and forgiveness. The grip is secure, the turns are easy to link, you can go on the edges of the slopes and ride on the warm spring snow. This allows young snowboarders from beginner to the intermediate level to enjoy the resort and progress throughout the season.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
