Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Lib Tech Golden Orca is the all-around model in the Orca line—a freeride-oriented, highly balanced directional board. It’s designed for advanced and expert riders looking for a board capable of handling anything off-piste, without being specialized for any one type of riding.

What is the Lib Tech Golden Orca snowboard all about?

It’s a highly versatile freeride board, equally at home in powder as on the groomed slopes, with stable and balanced handling. Its directional shape prioritizes lift and a direct forward trajectory. The W Rocker C2x profile combines floatation and precision to ride the entire mountain with confidence, supported by a fairly stiff flex.

Who is the Lib Tech Golden Orca snowboard designed for?

Designed for intermediate to expert riders, the Golden Orca is aimed at those looking for a single freeride board for all conditions.

  • Riders who want a versatile directional board rather than a specialized one.
  • Those who switch between powder and big turns on groomed snow.
  • Freeriders looking for stability and pop at high speeds.

A top choice if you want a balanced and reliable freeride board for any terrain. Not recommended if you’re looking for a board specialized purely for deep powder.

In what ways is the Golden Orca versatile?

Its C2x profile balances float and grip, allowing it to transition from powder to the groomed run without losing performance. It’s a freeride board that isn’t limited to a single type of terrain.

Is the Golden Orca suitable for high speeds?

Yes, its stiff flex and stability give it confidence when picking up speed. It remains composed in wide turns.

What’s the difference between the Golden Orca and the Orca II?

The Golden Orca prioritizes balance and versatility across the entire terrain, while the Orca II maximizes grip and float for a more aggressive ride. Two expert freeride boards from the same family—one is an all-rounder, the other a specialist.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
