Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Nitro Alternator is a directional freeride snowboard designed for carving wide turns on the groomed slopes and switching to off-piste as soon as the snow falls, with solid grip and good float that let you transition from groomed runs to powder without changing gear.

What is the Nitro Alternator snowboard designed for?

It’s a directional freeride board designed for the groomed slopes and fresh powder off-piste. Its classic camber runs from tip to tail, providing pop, crisp acceleration out of turns, and solid grip on hard snow. The directional shape—with a nose wider than the tail and rear-set inserts—makes it easy to initiate turns and improves float in powder. It remains stable at high speeds when the pace picks up.

Who is the Nitro Alternator snowboard designed for?

It’s designed for committed, physically capable riders who are comfortable in all conditions and have already mastered riding techniques. Its classic camber and directional shape require precision to be fully utilized, placing it in the intermediate to expert range.

What are the main qualities of the Nitro Alternator snowboard?

Grip

Stability

Buoyancy

Is the Alternator at home in powder?

Yes. The wide nose and rear-set inserts shift the weight toward the back of the board and make it easier to float in deep snow.

How does it perform on hard-packed slopes?

The classic camber running the entire length of the board provides solid edge-to-edge grip and stability as speed increases.

Is it suitable for the park and jibbing?

That’s not its forte. Its directional design and classic camber make it ideal for freeriding and on-piste riding, not for rails or technical jibbing.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
