Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Designed to carve through wide turns and dive into powder as soon as conditions allow, the Nitro Alternator Fx is a directional freeride snowboard that bridges the gap between groomed runs and backcountry riding with crisp edge grip and natural float in fresh snow.

What is the Nitro Alternator Fx snowboard designed for?

This directional freeride board is built for carving on hard-packed snow and riding off-piste when it’s freshly snowed. The classic camber provides pop, responsiveness, and crisp acceleration out of turns, with solid edge grip. The directional shape—featuring a wide nose, a narrower tail, and rear-set inserts—makes initiating turns easier and improves performance in powder. Stability remains a strong point as speed increases.

Who is the Nitro Alternator Fx snowboard designed for?

It’s aimed at physically fit and committed riders who can handle all snow conditions and already have solid technical skills. Its demanding profile—a blend of classic camber and a directional shape—places it at an advanced to expert level.

What are the main qualities of the Nitro Alternator Fx snowboard?

Versatility

Grip

Stability

Does the Alternator Fx float well in powder?

Yes. The directional shape and rear-set inserts shift the weight toward the back of the board and help keep the nose afloat.

Does it hold its edge on hardpack?

Yes. The classic camber running the entire length ensures solid edge grip and precision in carved turns.

Can you take it to the park?

That’s not what it’s designed for. Its directional shape and classic camber make it better suited for freeriding and on-piste riding rather than jibbing or rail riding.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
