Product description — Optisym

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Nitro Optisym is a fun, freestyle-oriented board. This twin tip is designed to turn every inch of the mountain into a playground, from groomed pistes to kickers and rails. It's aimed at snowboarders who want one board that does it all, with no fuss and a smile on their face.

What is the Nitro Optisym snowboard built for?

The Nitro Optisym is aimed at snowboarders looking for a versatile board with good responsiveness. Thanks to its classic camber, it offers solid grip and an energetic pop, particularly welcome on jumps and tight turns. Its symmetrical twin-tip shape makes freestyle riding and riding switch easier. Its light weight underfoot contributes to excellent manoeuvrability, while its behaviour on groomed snow ensures a smooth ride.

Who is the Nitro Optisym snowboard for?

The Nitro Optisym is aimed at intermediate to advanced riders who want to have fun on all types of terrain without overthinking it.

  • Snowboarders who want to progress in freestyle while staying comfortable on the piste
  • Riders who link park, rail and kicker sessions in the same day
  • Anyone who wants a responsive board without having to push hard on the flex

A good choice if you want a versatile board to play around on the whole resort without committing to pure freeride.

Not the best choice if you're looking for a board built for sending big jumps or tackling off-piste powder.

Frequently asked questions about the Nitro Optisym snowboard

Is the Nitro Optisym really comfortable when riding switch?

Yes, the 100% twin-tip shape guarantees identical behaviour in both directions: you won't feel any difference between regular and switch. That's precisely why this board is designed for versatile freestyle.

Where does the Nitro Optisym's pop come from?

The Whiplash Core profile, which concentrates core material beyond the feet, generates more powerful ollies by compressing the board more efficiently. The full poplar core (Power Core II) also contributes to a lively energy return with every impulse.

How does the Nitro Optisym perform on rails?

The Nitro Optisym holds its edges well on rails thanks to the Railkiller Edge, an edge reinforcement technology that withstands repeated impacts on metal features. The soft flex makes sliding and positioning on features easier.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
