Description

The Nitro Prime Chroma is the no-fuss entry-level board in the Nitro lineup: a board designed to support a developing rider across the entire mountain, without ever putting them in a tough spot. It’s for those who want a single board to do it all, from the start of the season to their first tricks.

What is the Nitro Prime Chroma snowboard designed for?

The Prime Chroma is an all-mountain board with a freestyle bent: it rides anywhere on the mountain and fits right in at the park and on features. Its twin-directional shape—generally symmetrical with a slight offset—gives you just as much ease riding switch as in the regular direction, while maintaining credible all-mountain performance. The Flat-Out camber (a flat camber with early tip rises for forgiveness and float) makes it one of the most versatile and accessible profiles in the Nitro lineup. Its flexible and playful construction gives you plenty of room for error: the board is forgiving and doesn’t lock up.

Who is the Nitro Prime Chroma snowboard designed for?

The Prime Chroma is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want a board that’s easy to get the hang of and capable of evolving with them over the seasons.

  • The improving rider who is starting to explore the park and kickers.

  • The rider who wants to ride the entire mountain without changing boards.

  • The more experienced rider looking for a laid-back board for fun sessions.

Best for: if you want a forgiving and versatile board that will support your progress.

Avoid this if: you’re looking for a stiff board designed for big jumps or aggressive riding.

  • Playability

Can you ride the Nitro Prime Chroma switch without any difficulty?

Yes. Its twin-directional shape ensures nearly identical handling in both riding directions. The slight deviation from a pure twin gives it a more all-mountain character, but riding switch remains natural and comfortable.

Is the Nitro Prime Chroma suitable for beginners in the park?

That’s exactly where it shines: its flexible construction forgives mistakes when landing on kickers and features, making it a great entry point into freestyle. It doesn’t force you—it guides you.

Does the Prime Chroma’s camber float in powder?

The early rocker slightly lifts the front of the board and makes it easier to float in fresh snow, making it more comfortable than a board with a classic full camber in these conditions. It’s not designed for deep off-piste, but it performs very well on snowy days on the marked trails.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
