Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Salomon Super 8 features a tapered shape and a slightly setback foot stance, along with camber under the back foot for optimal control and precision when turning. The wood core, reinforced by basalt and fiberglass, offers a smooth and dynamic ride on powder and hardpack alike, without being physically challenging. The board has a cork and ABS insert on the nose, helping to absorb vibrations for better fluidity at high-speed. With a rubber dampener, the board is stronger and guarantees a smoother glide. This snowboard is ideal to send tricks with confidence, offering both playfulness and performance for all-mountain and freeride snowboarding.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
