Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Armada Tuffy snowboard is a freestyle park model designed for snowpark sessions and street riding. Playful without being too flexible, it’s ideal for presses, butters, and creative tricks on features, while still offering enough responsiveness to mix up your runs.

What is the Armada Tuffy snowboard designed for?

The Armada Tuffy is primarily designed for stringing together park runs, with a strong focus on rails and boxes, while still delivering plenty of pop on kickers. Its balanced flex bends easily during presses and butters, while its good stability helps absorb landings and maintain control. Its 100% twintip shape is perfectly symmetrical, with identical performance in both regular and switch stances. Its classic camber, arched in the center, provides pop, grip, and precision, but requires a slightly more committed riding style.

Who is the Armada Tuffy snowboard designed for?

The Tuffy is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want to improve in the park, with a board that’s accessible and forgiving when learning tricks.

  • Riders who are working on their presses and butters and want a board that forgives imperfect landings
  • Riderswho is stringing together kickers and starting to build combos
  • The snowboarder who wants a smooth rail session without having to fight against their board

A top choice if you’re looking for an accessible, responsive, and playful park specialist.

Avoid this if you spend most of your time freeriding or in powder: the Tuffy isn’t designed for that terrain.

Is the Tuffy suitable for riding switch?

Yes, absolutely: the perfectly symmetrical twin-tip shape is designed to make riding switch feel just as natural as riding forward. You won’t need to adjust your riding style between the two directions.

What kind of base does the Tuffy have, and how does that affect everyday use?

The Tuffy features an extruded base, which is easier to maintain than a sintered base: it requires less regular upkeep, which is convenient if you ride often without necessarily spending all your time at the wax table.

Does the poplar core affect the board’s performance?

The poplar core contributes to the board’s lightness and responsiveness: combined with the Freestyle Carbon Stringer, it enhances the pop you feel when launching off a kicker or coming out of a press.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
