The Bataleon Party Wave is a board designed for one thing only: riding powder. With its 3D directional shape and clear freeride focus, it’s aimed at riders looking to recreate the feeling of surfing on fresh snow, far from groomed runs and crowds.

What’s the deal with the Bataleon Party Wave snowboard?

The Party Wave is built for deep snow: floating through powder, carving through fresh snow, and linking up backcountry lines with that surf-like feel that powder enthusiasts know so well. It’s not a groomed-run board, and it doesn’t pretend to be.

Its directional shape—with a long, wide nose and a shorter, narrower tail—clearly defines a front and a back: you take turns in the natural direction of travel, and the board floats and positions itself effortlessly in fresh snow. SideKick technology raises the edges at the contact points, which makes turn entries smoother and further enhances that float in powder.

The classic Medium Camber profile ensures solid grip on the snow, rebound coming out of turns, and precision that demands a confident riding style.

What type of base does the Party Wave have, and does it require a lot of maintenance?

The Party Wave features Bataleon’s Super Slick X base: an extruded base with very high molecular density, which provides solid glide and good wear resistance. It requires little maintenance compared to a traditional sintered base.

Is the Party Wave’s flex suitable for deep snow?

Yes: the Bi-Ax Laminate layup, which orients the fiberglass strands in two directions around the wood core, produces a supple flex that lets you feel the snow under your feet and play with your weight distribution without breaking your rhythm.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
