Very close to the Artefact, the Borealis Tundra is more slope/freestyle oriented, while the Artefact is more freeride/powder oriented. However, the Borealis Tundra is also a very versatile directional twin snowboard.  

What is the program of the Borealis Tundra snowboard?

The Tundra features a symmetrical shape from nose to tail, but with 12 mm of setback. The slightly backward position of the inserts allows to gain some ease when entering turns and floatability in powder, while remaining a very well-balanced board for freestyle and switch riding, which is still great in the terrain park. Talking about balance, the flex is well tuned between power and accessibility. The Tundra does not lack pop thanks to the classic camber and carbon in the tips, but keeps some flex to be playful and comfortable to ride. Grip is good for efficiency on groomers, float is sufficient to have fun on fresh snow on the sides of the runs.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
