Description

The Burton Cartographer is a directional snowboard, with a back foot position and a tail that tapers 5mm from the nose. It also has a directional flex, which makes it responsive, precise and progressive.

What is the program of the Burton Cartographer snowboard?

The Burton Cartographer is a snowboard that is above all designed for curves. It is very pleasant to ride and offers a real efficiency on all types of snow. Indeed, its classic camber allows it to find grip even on the hardest slopes, while the back foot position automatically shifts the weight to the back in powder and therefore enables flotation. The back foot position also provides more control in the trajectories, turns are easily initiated and linked. The softer flex in the front tip allows you to easily deform the tip at the beginning of a turn, while the stiffer rear tip ensures precision and recovery in the middle and end of the turn. This is the perfect board for perfecting your carving technique or for venturing into new off-piste terrains.

Who is the Burton Cartographer snowboard for?

We recommend this model to intermediate or advanced snowboarders looking to move towards a freeride programme and who are therefore looking for a high-performance but fairly accessible board that will allow them to ride off-piste and carve on piste.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
