Description

The Burton Custom isn’t just any all-mountain snowboard. This board is Burton’s best-seller. It's a very versatile directional twin performance snowboard that remains accessible.

What is the program of the Burton Custom snowboard?

The Custom is the ideal board for freestyle/all-mountain riding at a good level. To do so it benefits from a directional twin shape that works very well in switch, offering good freestyle options, while improving turn initiation and control on any terrain, as well as the ability to lift in pow. The wood core reinforced by glass fibre and paired to a classic camber works marvellously well, providing nice grip and solid rebound in carving, as well as very pleasant pop for ollies. With all these qualities, you can have fun riding fast and fully committed during descents on various terrain, while having a board with which you can do some freestyle, be it backcountry freestyle, jib or big table jumps in the terrain park.

Who is the Burton Custom snowboard for?

Because of its versatility and well-balanced performance level, this board can satisfy a wide range of snowboarders. We still recommend it to advanced riders who want to ride various terrains and do some freestyle, which is the case of lots of riders.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
