Description détaillée du produit — Fish 3D

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Burton Fish 3D snowboard is an iconic model in the Burton lineup, designed to deliver a surfing-like experience as soon as fresh snow hits the slopes. It’s aimed at riders who want to float through powder without sacrificing ease of use.

What is the Burton Fish 3D snowboard designed for?

It’s an all-mountain board with a freeride focus, comfortable anywhere but with a preference for powder. Its directional shape, featuring a 30 mm taper and 3D Contour-shaped tips, promotes smooth handling and good float in powder. The hybrid camber combines camber underfoot for grip and pop with rocker at the tips for forgiveness and float. More flexible than a highly aggressive freeride board, it prioritizes fun and maneuverability.

Who is the Burton Fish 3D snowboard designed for?

  • Riders looking for a surf-like feel as soon as fresh snow hits
  • Riders who prioritize fun and maneuverability over pure speed

A great choice if you want an accessible powder board. Avoid this if you’re looking for a board designed for speed and pure performance.

What are the main features of the Burton Fish 3D snowboard?

Playful handling

What do the Fish 3D’s 3D Contour tips offer?

They improve lift and allow you to string together smooth turns, for a sensation similar to surfing in fresh snow.

Is the Fish 3D easy to ride off-piste?

Yes, its directional shape with a 30 mm taper promotes smooth and intuitive handling as soon as the terrain becomes natural: forests, off-piste, and powder.

Does the Fish 3D’s Sintered WFO base require any special maintenance?

It’s a sintered base—faster than an extruded base—that requires regular waxing to maintain its performance.

What’s the difference between the Fish 3D and the Family Tree Smooth Operator?

Both float well in powder thanks to a shape similar to a fish, but the Fish 3D is more flexible, more accessible, and designed for fun rather than pure performance, while the Smooth Operator is stiffer and intended for advanced to expert riders.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
