Description

The Burton Hideaway is a directional snowboard, with a tapered shape, progressive flex and a slightly set back foot position offering both maneuverability and versatility. It's a profile usually found on freeride snowboards, but it's perfect for easily making turns and discovering the joy of powder on the edges of the piste.  

What is the Burton Hideaway snowboard program?  

With the extra maneuverability and versatility offered by the Burton Hideaway's directional shape and flex, you'll enjoy the whole resort! Start by familiarizing yourself with your board, learn your first skidded turns on the green and blue slopes, then move on to cut turns. Learning is even more fun thanks to the flat camber and Easy Bevel edges, which offer a secure grip on packed snow while providing tolerance during edge faults. Once you feel comfortable, you can take advantage of the Burton Hideaway's manoeuvrability, dynamism and versatility to have fun riding on all the slopes of the resort and discover the fresh snow on the edges of the piste!

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
