Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Burton Pow Wrench is a snowboard with a shape that is as beautiful as it is unique. It is very directional, with a tapered tail compared to the nose and a surprising Swallow Tail. On the other hand, it is designed to be ridden a few centimetres shorter that your usual board. For example, for a body weight between 54 and 82 kg, the recommended size is 148 cm. For a body weight between 68 and 91 kg, the size recommended is 152 cm. This provides lots of manoeuvrability, quick turn transfers and lots of comfort in short turns, notably to slalom between the trees in powder. The width is slightly exaggerated to make up for the loss of floatability because of the shortness. Powder and short turns truly are its favourite domains, as the tapered shape, setback foot stance, stiffer flex at the tail and substantial rocker at the nose constitute a package of elements that provide more smoothness and precision as well as better floatability. We are dealing with a true gem to link slash turns in the backcountry. The medium flex makes it very balanced, between comfort and performance. The classic camber between the inserts offers efficient and secure grip and also enables to have fun on groomers.

What are the main assets of the Burton Pow Wrench snowboard?

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
