Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Capita Aeronaut is Arthur Longo’s signature board: a board designed to shred the resort at high speeds, catch air off every natural feature, and enjoy a few runs in powder when the mountain conditions allow.

What is the Capita Aeronaut snowboard designed for?

The Capita Aeronaut is a versatile freeride board designed for ski resorts: it excels on the groomed runs, handles light off-piste terrain with ease, and actively seeks out side-hits—those natural bumps and features that line the runs and let you launch into the air without leaving the resort. The shape is directional, meaning there’s a clearly defined front and back: the board feels right at home in turns and in powder. The classic camber, called the Alpine V3 Profile by Capita, delivers pop, solid grip on groomed snow, and precise edge control that rewards aggressive riding. Magic Bean Resin is incorporated into the board’s construction as part of an eco-design approach, integrating bio-based materials without compromising performance.

Who is the Capita Aeronaut snowboard designed for?

The Capita Aeronaut is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want to get the most out of their sessions at the resort.

  • Snowboarders who love speed on the groomed runs and want to hit natural features
  • Riders who want a board that can adapt to any conditions, from groomed runs to powder
  • Riders who are improving and want a responsive board that isn’t temperamental

Can the Capita Aeronaut be ridden switch?

The Aeronaut’s directional shape, with its 0.8-inch setback (the binding mounting point shifted rearward), isn’t optimized for switch riding: the board responds well, but its performance is clearly designed for riding in one direction. If riding switch is central to your riding style, opt for a twin (symmetrical) board.

What is the flex of the Capita Aeronaut?

The flex is directional and rated 6 out of 10 by Capita: the board features a softer tip that absorbs and adapts to the terrain, and a stiffer tail that transfers energy and supports your stance at speed. This profile is suitable for aggressive riding without being physically demanding.

Does the Capita Aeronaut float well in powder?

The directional shape with a setback positions the rider’s weight toward the rear, which helps the front of the board rise in light snow. Powder isn’t the Aeronaut’s forte, but it performs respectably on light off-piste runs starting from the trails.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
