Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Capita D.O.A., Defenders of Awesome, is one of the most iconic boards in the Capita line-up: an all-mountain freestyle snowboard built for riders who want one board that can handle everything, from groomers to light pow and park laps.

What is the Capita D.O.A snowboard designed for?

The D.O.A. is an all-mountain board with a freestyle bias: it is just as comfortable linking turns on groomers as it is playing on park features or exploring a few powder lines off-piste. With its True Twin shape, it is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail, meaning riding switch feels exactly the same as riding in your regular stance. The camber profile, called Resort V1 by Capita, combines traditional camber underfoot for edge hold and pop with a subtle rocker at the contact points, adding forgiveness and helping the board float more easily in fresh snow. Capita uses Magic Bean Resin, a bio-based resin integrated into the construction, supporting a reduced environmental impact without altering the board’s ride characteristics.

Who is the Capita D.O.A snowboard aimed at?

The D.O.A. is made for intermediate to advanced riders who want a single board for the whole mountain, without having to choose between piste and park. This snowboard does require a decent foundation to get the most from it: it rewards riders who know how to handle their board.

  • Riders who want to ride the entire ski area without swapping boards depending on the day’s mood
  • Snowboarders getting into the park who also want a solid piste board to keep progressing

What are the main strengths of the Capita D.O.A snowboard?

Versatility

Edge grip

Eco-friendly construction

Is the Capita D.O.A. suitable for riding switch?

Yes, absolutely: the True Twin shape means the board is identical at both ends, with the same sidecut and the same flex distribution from tip to tail. Riding switch on the D.O.A. requires no adjustment at all.

What type of flex does the Capita D.O.A. offer?

The D.O.A. has a medium flex (rated 5.5 out of 10 by Capita), meaning it is a soft-to-moderate board: it forgives small mistakes while remaining lively enough to engage the edges with confidence on groomed snow. This flex level works well for park riding as well as charging around the mountain.

What does the P2 Superlight Core add to the ride?

The P2 Superlight Core combines paulownia and poplar wood, two lightweight species, reinforced with carbon fibres. On the snow, the board stays light, making spins and manoeuvrability easier, while still delivering a clean energy return for strong pop.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
