Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Capita SB Stairmaster is part of Capita’s Spring Break lineup: a board designed for riders who see the mountain as a playground, from park rails to natural spots among the trees. It’s a board built for jibbing, manufactured at The MotherShip™ in Austria, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything else.

What is the Capita SB Stairmaster snowboard designed for?

The Stairmaster is built for jibbing: park features, rails, boxes, and any obstacles the mountain has to offer. The board is 100% twintip, meaning it’s perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail, so you ride exactly the same way in switch (opposite your usual stance) as you do in regular. The classic camber provides edge grip and pop. The board is manufactured using 100% renewable energy at Capita’s Austrian factory.

Who is the Capita SB Stairmaster snowboard designed for?

The Stairmaster is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want a board dedicated to jibbing so they can pull off tricks at every opportunity.

  • Riders who spend their sessions on rails and park features
  • Snowboarders who hunt for side hits and street spots
  • Riders who ride equally well switch and regular and want a board that makes no distinction between the two

Best suited if you’re comfortable on a board and jibbing is at the heart of your riding.

Avoid this if you’re looking for a board to tear up the powder: that’s not the Stairmaster’s playground.

What are the main qualities of the Capita SB Stairmaster snowboard?

Jib

Fun

Pop

Is the Stairmaster just as comfortable riding switch as it is riding regular?

Yes, that’s precisely the point of the twintip shape: the board is identical on both sides, with the nose and tail having exactly the same profile. You don’t have to adjust at all when switching to switch stance.

Why choose a classic camber for a jib board?

Classic camber generates pop the moment you initiate your ollie and provides precision and bite on the edges. It’s a deliberate choice for riders who want feel and responsiveness on features, rather than an ultra-forgiving board.

Can the Stairmaster be used on park kickers?

The board works on kickers, but it really shines on rails and jib features. If jumps are your priority, other models in the Capita lineup will be better suited.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
