Description

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Designed as the signature model of snowboarder Jess Kimura, the Capita The Equalizer snowboard combines the liveliness of freestyle with the essential float needed in the backcountry.

What is the Capita The Equalizer snowboard made for?

Featuring a directional design with a tapered nose and a more traditional tail, it has more rocker at the front than at the back and a slight setback of the bindings, optimising float and manoeuvrability without sacrificing the ability to ride switch. This blend makes it effective on all types of snow, complemented by a section of traditional camber in the centre of the board that ensures good grip on groomers or hard snow. To tackle technical descents and rough terrains, the Superlight wood core is reinforced with flax and aramid fibres, increasing shock absorption while offering good pop and maintaining the natural flexibility of the wood. This board ensures comfort and performance, allowing for beautiful turns on the slopes and fun in powder, while retaining enough dynamism to perform a maximum of tricks.

Who is the Capita The Equalizer snowboard aimed at?

The Capita The Equalizer is aimed at intermediate to expert snowboarders who want a board capable of doing it all. Whether it's carving down the slopes, exploring the backcountry, or sending freestyle tricks, this board offers an excellent balance between performance and manoeuvrability.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
