Description

The special feature of GNU Riders Choice is that it is asymmetrical between its front and back edges. A shorter curve radius at the backside edge allows the board to turn the same way as in the frontside with less angle, thus compensating for the natural lack of balance and power at the backside edge. Be careful, this specificity requires that you do not make a mistake when mounting the bindings, ensuring that the frontside edge and the backside edge are respected. otherwise, it's a great freestyle snowboard to ride all over the resort!  

What is the program of the GNU Riders Choice snowboard?  

The Riders Choice is a really versatile snowboard with which you can do anything you want in the resort. Its hybrid camber mixes camber and rocker sections and works on all types of snow. You can enjoy the balance provided by the asymmetric edges on the piste, but you can also have fun on the edges of the piste slashing the powder. The construction is rather sharp, providing a good ollie pop and stability at high speed. Nonetheless, the Riders Choice remains accessible and will allow you to ride without feeling tired. Finally, its twin-tip shape allows you to switch without problems and therefore offers you all the options you need in freestyle!

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
