Description

With a shape that's as beautiful as it is effective, the Jones Hovercraft board wasted no time to become a freeride reference! Its wood veneer will make you feel like you're riding a masterpiece sculpted in a noble wood. We recommend you choose a board size slightly smaller than your usual freeride weapon. Jeremy Jones, 1m73 and 68kg, rides a size 156.

What's on the agenda for the Jones Hovercraft snowboard?

The Hovercraft is an alternative freeride board with a carefully-crafted shape that makes it ultra-effective on all types of snows. With its rockers and convex tips, it provides an exceptional buoyancy and a very surfy feel through the deep all while staying fluid and smooth when initiating turns on hardpack. Besides, by moving the weight towards the rear, the setback stance lets you chain turns and float effortlessly. The classic camber, responsive wood core and Traction Tech 3.0 serrated edges for their part, deliver a max of grip and stability allowing you to go full-send mode on hardpack without skidding. Simply put, a performing and very-pleasant board that handles like a dream whether you are linking turns on freshly-groomed snow or slaloming between the trees on powder.

Who is the Jones Hovercraft snowboard for?

We recommend the Jones Hovercraft to advanced and expert snowboarders looking for a board that will provide them a max of sensations on all types of snows, with awesome cornering abilities and a great riding comfort.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
