The K2 Excavator is a freeride snowboard with a versatile character, designed to deliver great performance on piste while excelling in powder. Thanks to its carefully thought-out attributes, it makes the most of every session, with thrills in fresh snow and stable behavior on groomed terrain.

What's in the K2 Excavator snowboard program?

The Excavator is built around a hybrid core combining paulownia, bamboo and aspen, enriched with fiberglass reinforcements and carbon strips for increased responsiveness and solid power transmission. Its rigidity gives it great stability even at high speeds, while maintaining appreciable accessibility for riders who wish to evolve without too many physical constraints. Its directional shape features a generous front tip and a tighter swallow tail at the rear, optimizing lift in powder and fluidity in turns. The classic camber between the feet provides precise grip on hard snow, while the front rocker facilitates curve initiation and improves flotation. With its recessed inserts, it invites committed riding while maintaining excellent control in all situations.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
