Product description — Excavator
Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.
The K2 Excavator snowboard lives up to its name: it’s built for digging in. Whether carving big turns on groomed runs or hitting the powder the day after a snowfall, this directional board has a bold character and rides shorter than usual.
What’s the K2 Excavator snowboard all about?
The Excavator does it all: carving big turns on groomed runs and tackling powder as soon as there’s enough of it. Its directional shape, with a well-defined nose and tail and a 20 mm taper, prioritizes carving and float over riding switch. Its hybrid camber combines camber underfoot for grip and rocker at the tips for effortless lift. Its generous width allows you to carve with a sharp edge without your toes touching the snow, and the pre-curved Carbon Power Forks reinforcements add dynamism to turn entry and exit.
Who is the K2 Excavator snowboard designed for?
This board is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who split their season between aggressive carving and powder days, with a compact board that remains responsive.
- Deep turns on groomed runs
- Powder and forest riding thanks to its compact size
- Riders with large feet who want to lean in hard
A top choice if you’re looking for a board that carves hard on the groomed runs and floats on powder days.
Avoid this if you plan to jib: it’s not designed for that.

Frequently Asked Questions About the K2 Excavator Snowboard
What size should you choose for the Excavator?
About 5 cm shorter than your usual board: its wider perimeter compensates for the volume lost in length, without sacrificing any float or stability.
Is the Excavator suitable for people with large feet?
Yes. Its extra width and 20 mm taper limit toe friction during deep edge catches and long traverses.
What’s the difference between the Excavator and the Skypilot?
Two compact, wide directional boards. The Skypilot, more versatile and playful with its triaxial carbon fiber, handles detours through boulders. The Excavator focuses on deep carving and powder.
